Senior Data Analyst – Basingstoke – £47k

My client within the transport and logistics industry requires a Senior Data Analyst.




As the Senior Data Analyst your role will be to review, analyse and challenge business plans and periodic results and forecasts.

You will develop, implement and apply consistently across the function analytical tools, systems and processes to benchmark performance, making recommendations for improvements where appropriate. Your responsibility will be to support route and central support functions and to ensure accuracy and integrity of the data.

In this role, you will review, analyse and challenge the business data and plan submissions for the routes and central functions to ensure full compliance with financial and operational targets.


Other key accountabilities

  • Assist in the measurement of route performance against the Delivery Plan within the framework focussed on achieving corporate goals.
  • Lead the development of consistent models and analysis of all activities, including the setting of benchmarking and best practice, internal and external, for all activities.
  • Provide the appropriate management information including support to budget holders for control of expenditure and business case development.
  • Derive from analysis and discussions, opportunities for improvement. Propose actions to budget holders.
  • Monitor and report on progress in the implementation of efficiencies
  • Manage the production of reporting packs for management reviews

Essential criteria

  • Demonstrable experience in a relevant analytical or business discipline
  • Analytical and modelling experience in a financial or operational environment
  • Strong Excel and Microsoft office skills
  • Good presentation skills
  • Works well as part of a team and also has the ability to work as an individual on nominated projects
