System Engineer

Contract Role – System Engineer- £400 per day – North England – 3 months initially

 

This role will ideally focus on the Mobile Computing and SW Integration part of the team with a strong focus needed around testing processes and procedures.

 

Overview

 

The System Engineer’s responsibilities will meet with my client’s Services Portfolio Strategy with focus on Software Integration Services incl. Software Architecture & Design, Data Analytics & Services, and Mobile Computing Solutions. The applicant must have started as a Software Solutions developer and done significant hands-on application/BI/Data development work and understand software methodologies.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Deliver Assess, Design and Deployment Services for Mobile Computing and SW Integration Solutions. Deliver complex business system solutions using my client’s products stand alone or integrated with third party product offerings.
  • Deliver Troubleshooting, Support and Training Services to direct customers as well as channel partners.
  • Create test plans/procedures and User stories
  • Software Defect Management
  • Act as an SME for technical changes on a delivered SW Solution to support rough order of magnitude quotes to customers and scoping of customer selected change requests.
  • Scope, review, and create functional and non-functional requirements.

 

Skills & Qualifications

 

  • Preferred Work Experience: 5+ years’ experience with a proven track record of Software Development / Testing / data development skills.
  • Ability to plan and perform major systems integration and test system hardware and software interoperability

 

Must have in depth knowledge of:

 

  • Mobile Computing and Mobile Computer Operating Systems with focus on Android based devices.
  • Programming languages and SW environments for mobile computer.
  • SQL, Oracle, IIS
  • Testing processes and procedures
  • Strong customer facing skills.
  • Experience with Mobile Device Management System such as Airwatch/Soti preferred.
  • Willingness to travel 60%.
  • ITIL v3/4 foundation nice to have

Job Description

 

Objectives

 

Reporting to the Head of Commercial Account Management, the primary function of this role is to drive the sales engagement for existing customers in the Commercial Sector in the UK. In addition this role is responsible for identifying and winning new customers to my client using initiatives to expand presence within the Commercial sector.

 

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate dedication, drive and ambition with an ability to work comfortably in a dynamic environment. The candidate will need to apply themselves to a diverse range of tasks, including developing, leading and executing the sales strategy into the sector and ensuring every element of proposition is promoted, progressed and optimised.

 

The candidate must be highly organised and capable of prioritising workload based on the customer’s expectations. It is also important that the candidate demonstrates the necessary communication and interpersonal skills to interact with and present to customers at a high level. This position will require proven competent sales experience preferably within the communications/IT services sector. It will also require an understanding of the market place and the requirements of our customers.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Growth, development and management of the existing account base.
  • Acquisition of new brand names to the Portfolio.
  • Manage customer relationships in order to grow and retain existing customer revenues.
  • Introduce, actively promote and sell new IT services from across the group portfolio to new and existing customers.
  • Performance will be measured against pre-defined targets for growth of the existing and new customer margin.
  • The Account Management role is to manage each assigned customer through regular contact by telephone, email, face to face customer review /re-sign meetings.
  • Prepare and submit all documentation relating to existing customer contracts to enable changes to be made as/when required.
  • Prepare and maintain on CRM a monthly forecast and pipeline reports to your direct report for inclusion in the sales forecasts.
  • Pro-actively manage defined customers to ensure that customer service expectations across the organization are being met.
  • Build new and maintain existing customer relationships.
  • Aid in the processing and prompt payment of invoices by your customer base
  • Manage and update customer records on internal CRM system and contract system
  • Being customer focused with an approach that is co-operative and flexible, whilst, maintaining a diplomatic and organized approach, even under pressure.
  • Be vigilant for possible fraudulent activity and if necessary raise a security incident report using the template accessible via the corporate Intranet.
  • Periodically review Security Policies – centrally hosted on the Intranet – to ensure full compliance with current legal, regulatory and company requirements.

 

Knowledge, Skills, Experience

 

  • Sales experience preferred within the communications/IT services sector.
  • Experience in creating, managing, negotiating and closing service contracts
  • An understanding of the market place and the requirements of our customers.
  • Clearly articulate how IT Solutions deliver Customer Business Value
  • Degree standard (desirable) OR significant demonstrable experience within the Commercial Sector.
  • Be able to establish consistent thorough pipeline management, of at least three times target in any given period.
  • Be able to deliver against all key commission plan targets (margin/order intake).
  • Be able to demonstrate clear sales ability with proven targets.
  • Be able to accurately forecast monthly commitment.

Project Management Officer – Part Time

My Client organization has an aggressive goal to grow the Professional and Learning Services business. As part of the business transformation, a Program Manager is required to lead the EMEA Program and Resource Management Office. The role will report to the Global PMO lead and will be responsible for supporting the evolution of the Global Delivery Organization’s methodologies, tools and procedures to be best-in-class. Additionally, the role will be responsible for resource management, skill development and capacity planning for the EMEA team.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the design and implementation of next generation project management methodology, standards and tools to drive and facilitate delivery excellence
  • Lead the execution of EMEA PMO governance, reporting and review framework to provide a holistic view of all organisational project activity including aspects relating to scope, schedule, budget and customer satisfaction
  • Provide metrics and analysis across all EMEA programs and projects to enable focussed and effective decision making
  • Manage interdependencies and coordination across projects to ensure that information relating to project deliverables, risks and issues are effectively communicated between stakeholders and that key performance indicators are monitored and evaluated
  • Foster collaborative and mutually supportive relationships with project leaders and stakeholders, assess cross-functional project team capability, provide coaching, training and support to enhance the team’s project/program management capability, and improve collaborative development and project results
  • Facilitate sharing of best practices through informal communities, collaboration and / or formal training to enable a consistent approach across all projects

Education

  • Experience of prioritisation matrices and working with the business to determine appropriate project prioritisation
  • Experience of full project delivery lifecycle, with a working knowledge of multiple delivery methodologies across development and technical delivery disciplines
  • Experience creating and presenting management recommendations, analytics and insights.
