My client is a leading market research company for the alcoholic beverages industry. They quantify the global market of wine, spirits, beer, cider and mixed drinks by volume and value in 157 countries and provides insight into short and long-term trends.


  •  Help to shape the company’s external and internal software products and establish a technical architecture which provides a solid data foundation for the business.
  • Understand the strategic data requirements and develop an architecture which supports the business and product strategies.
  • Develop a data strategy roadmap
  • Design the architecture for management reporting and BI, supporting the data analysts in the development of required functionality.
  • Provide guidance and assistance where required around the most effective methods of processing, aligning and analysing different data sets.
  • Design and support systems for operational use of data within business process functions such as sales and research
  • Understand and adhere to policies and procedures required for data governance
  • Keep abreast of technology and methodology advances in data processing and BI

Essential skills & experience

You will be an experienced data professional who thrives on taking the initiative and putting forward fresh ideas. It is essential that you are a strong mathematician, with a rigorous, committed approach to your work, able to fulfil the immediate operational requirements whilst retaining focus on long-term high-level business strategy.

You should have:

  • A maths, statistics or science-based qualification to degree level
  • Excellent SQL Server knowledge with experience of modelling data for data visualisation tools such as Power BI.
  • Robust understanding of star schemas, data warehousing and ETL
  • Experience in Azure and an understanding of the characteristics and behaviour of different Azure services e.g. Azure SQL DB, Data Factory.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills [or is this a given / not necessary?

Of benefit would be:

  • Some experience with statistical forecasting techniques and software for multi-variate regression and time series analysis.
  • Understanding of web development and embedded data analytics solutions.
  • Experience working within an agile product management function
  • Advanced Power BI skills

Main Responsibilities:

Our client, an award winning managed service provider is looking for a Technical Account Manager / Technical Pre sales Manager to join their growing organisation in London.

Your role will be to provide Technical Account Management resource to fully managed clients, delivering technical and strategic advice via on client site meetings and internal meetings. Working alongside the Service Delivery Manager and Account Manager, you will be responsible for the production and quarterly updating of client’s technical roadmaps.
